Job Summary
The Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating construction activities on-site to ensure that work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The role involves coordinating with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily construction activities and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure smooth site operations.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents before execution.
- Monitor project progress and ensure activities are completed according to the approved schedule.
- Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
- Identify and resolve technical issues and site-related challenges.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, and material usage.
- Coordinate inspections and approvals with consultants and clients.
- Verify work quantities and support preparation of progress payment applications.
- Assist in reviewing shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Participate in testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
- Maintain site records, as-built drawings, and project documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Professional engineering registration or certification is an advantage.
- 4+ years of experience in construction, infrastructure, or MEP projects.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of construction methods and engineering principles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project is an advantage.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, construction standards, and HSE regulations.
- Experience with testing and commissioning procedures is an advantage.
