Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Engineer

Job Summary
The Quality Control (QC) Engineer is responsible for ensuring that construction and engineering works comply with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable codes, and quality standards. The role involves conducting inspections, monitoring work execution, identifying non-conformities, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented to achieve the required quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the project Quality Control Plan (QCP) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Inspect materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications and approved drawings.
- Conduct site inspections and witness testing activities for mechanical, electrical, civil, or architectural works, as applicable.
- Prepare and submit Inspection Requests (IRs) and coordinate inspections with consultants and clients.
- Identify, document, and report non-conformities (NCRs) and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
- Review material approvals, method statements, shop drawings, and quality documentation before construction activities.
- Verify that only approved materials are used on site.
- Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality standards and project requirements.
- Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test results, and as-built documentation.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Coordinate with project engineers, consultants, and clients to resolve quality-related issues.
- Ensure testing and commissioning activities are performed according to approved procedures.
- Support project handover by ensuring all quality documentation is complete and approved.
- Promote continuous improvement in quality processes and construction practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline).
- Professional certifications in Quality Management (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor) are an advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in quality control within construction, MEP, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of QA/QC principles and quality management systems.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality documentation.
- Familiarity with international codes and standards relevant to the discipline (e.g., ASME, ASTM, NFPA, ASHRAE, ACI, IEC).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience preparing NCRs, inspection reports, ITPs, and material inspection records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; knowledge of BIM software is an advantage.
